Trending: She wore blue velvet

When we were looking for a new armchair  we were initially transfixed by the beautiful button-detailed Cocoon chair from EZ Living Interiors. I spent weeks dreaming about it with Bobby Vinton’s 1950 ‘Blue Velvet’ on a loop in my head. Sadly, measurements never permitted a glorious union between our living room and this beauty but it hasn’t stopped me singing the same tune (though I still haven’t learned the next line).

So as I continue to pine and continue to sing, I wanted to bring together some of the most stunning blue velvet products out there right now. Apologies in advance if the song is now stuck in your head, distract yourself with these beauts!

Spectre Armchair Navy Cotton Velvet PR02 Spectre Armchair with Footstool, Navy Cotton Velvet from (£699/€999)
I just love the word ‘tufted’. I love saying it. You could always just say button-detailed but I’ll stick with tufted. This beautiful chair echoes a members club scene. It’s old school glamour but contemporary and sophisticated.

Bluebellgray Peppermint Velvet Tassel Cushion Large from Houseology (£75)
Is it mint green or pale blue? For the purpose of this blog, i shall say it’s blue. It’s colourful tassels bring a sense of fun and playfulness to this seriously glam cushion.

New York sofa from Graham & Green (price varies, 3-seater sofa in Cornflower Blue Velvet is £2,250)
Clean, sharp lines, polished metal legs, all in a luxurious fabric make this sofa the perfect combination. It’s available in a variety of styles including armchair, foot stool, 2 seater, 3 seater, 4 seater and a chaise longue.

Pouffe from Søstrene Grene, available from Thursday 16th March (€29.96 per item)
My love for Søstrene Grene gets stronger by the day and I’m not so patiently waiting the arrival of their pouffes this Thursday. Great for moveable, casual seating, they can also double up as a side table or footstool.

Abigail Ahern’s Blue Baboon Lamp from Debenhams (€140)
Design guru and author of multiple books including ‘Colour.’, Abigail Ahern’s quirky collection for Debenham’s is sure to offer you the perfect conversation starter for your home. This Blue Baboon lamp is a real statement that is sure to be like Marmite to all who lay eyes upon it.

Navy Leaf Foiled Throw from Penney’s (€14)
Penney’s is doing some really great stuff at the moment and not all of it is too overly trendy that you’re going to want to ditch it in a few weeks. This cosy throw is nicely on trend with its big gold palm leaf print and for only €14, you can’t say no.

  1. Definitely not a fan of the Baboon lamp, it is a marmite item for sure! But the cornflower blue sofa is absolutely gorgeous!
