The saying ‘never judge a book by its cover’ never seemed to register with me. It’s exactly how I judge my books. The more eye-catching the design, the more inclined I am to pick it up and read the back cover. It’s probably why I have so many coffee table books with glossy covers and snappy titles. I’m a marketer’s dream!
Cue #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso. A New York Times bestseller, the story of how founder and Executive Chairman of Nasty Gal Sophia Amoruso became a success, has been on my reading list for a while now (all reviews welcome).
Inspired by the message (and any and every message that starts with a hashtag), here’s what I imagine a kick-ass, feminine but feisty, #girlboss office set up to look like. Starting with a black feature wall (try Jack Black 119 from Little Greene), surrounded by crisp white walls, throw in a milkshake pink desk chair and monochrome accessories with hints of gold throughout; it’s girly scheme but it still packs a punch. And I just love that highland cow!

Could that desk be used as a console table?
