What an amazingly sunny weekend we just had. I can only hope that it’s the start and not the end of a beautiful summer to come. But even if the rain does arrive to spoil the summery vibes, it looks as if the Retro Tropicana trend will be sticking around for some time to come, spreading that feeling of California dreaming.
From fashion to interiors, there’s no escaping palm prints, bold colours and tropical birds that make you feel like you’ve gone back in time to the bright neon lights of 1980s Miami. And the undisputed spirit animal of this theme has got to be the flamingo.
Flamingos have been dominating the scene for awhile now but with summer at our doorstep, I think there is a new flock of flamingo-themed products winging their way to homeware and interior stores near you.
Agreed, some trends can be a bit on the wacky and tacky side but one thing they’re never short of is fun. And I think having fun with your interiors is really important as they can really help show off your personality and individuality.
So what do you think? Are your feathers ruffled?
