The weekly glaze: Let’s go outside

It’s been quite a busy few weeks and I’ve been remiss in my posting with all this lovely sunshine. And with all this time spent out of doors in my pursuit to become a gardening goddess (date set for the 12th of never), I have found my inspiration for this post.

In the words of George Michael, let’s go outside (let’s go outside), in the sunshine. And that’s just what everyone has been doing of late as we enjoy this unexpectedly early sunny spell. Don’t read the weather update for the weekend though.

It’s good weather like this that sends Irish people in their droves, not to the beach, but to their nearest gardening centres and DIY establishments to get themselves kitted out and ready for a ‘come rain or shine’ BBQ party.

But if you’re looking for  some non-ubiquitous outdoor furniture and accessories, Graham & Green has got you covered whether you’re planning al fresco fiesta or even a siesta.

What better way to kick back and relax in the sunshine than in this Marine Stripe Hammock (£45). Bringing to mind vintage french linen that you would see on beach deck chairs, this one person hammock is the perfect excuse not to share. Hang it from a tree or a wall and let the hours drift by.

For added comfort, these vibrant Frida Kahlo inspired cushions make a big impact wherever they go. Choose from the Frida Large Yellow Cushion (£65)Frida Large Grey Cushion (£65), or Appliquéd Character Cushion (£39).
3The epitome of outside dining the world over is the French-style bistro chair. Normally just a seating option for one, this Folding Bistro Bench (£100) means you can bring a friend.

2And if some unexpected visitors follow the wafting smells of your BBQ and arrive unannounced, pull out these super Outdoor Tree Pouffes (£39.95).

1Another two-seater bench option is the Anora String Bench in White (£195). Also available in pink, it features a durable and weather resistant woven plastic string design, essential for coping with the Irish climate.

CaptureNow for the table. I just love these Mexicana Candle Holders (£27.95), particularly the Mariachi band player. It’s quirky and it’s fun and I must have it. For a centrepiece option, try this Metal Tray Tea Light Holder (£25) which holds four tealights.

Capture Another great option are these Spanish Blues Tile Mats (£75-£250). Perfect for jazzing up any dull paving slabs. These vinyl mats in this bright blue pattern will be sure to remind you of summer holidays passed and ones yet to come. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use, they come in a number of design options including Turkish Green, Parisian Pink or exotic Moroccan.

Capture And if you’re after a brand new garden furniture set, then the Arden Table and Bench (£1,850 for large, £1,550 for small) won’t disappoint.

So get out there and make the most of any ray of sunshine you see and don’t forget to invite me to any BBQs. I may even bring you a Mexicana candle holder as a present 🙂
